Money Basics 
Money Basics is geared toward young adults ages 14-22, and covers various financial
topics that are essential for a financially successful life. This class discusses credit
cards, debit cards, credit reports and scores, financial implications of roommates, W-2,
W-4, budgeting, tracking expenses, saving, investing, financial goals and more. This is
a great opportunity to offer to your children or students.
Balancing Personal Finances 
This workshop will help you develop a financial plan for your life, and learn how to
track and evaluate your spending. The Instructor explains the step-by-step process of
creating a budget, and includes tips about how to help to stick to it.
The Fundamentals of Investing 
Want to save for a home; college expenses; or financial independence? Whatever your
current financial condition, come to this fun workshop and learn the most efficient ways
to reach your long-term goals.

Building a Better Portfolio 
This workshop will make you aware of the critical strategies to
implement when building your portfolio. Learn about asset

Organizing Financial Paperwork 
This class will demonstrate how to turn paper piles into organized files, using simple strategies and tools.
Topics will include how to sort incoming mail, set up a maintenance-free filing system, and eliminate the
accumulation of paper in your home and home office.

Surviving Unemployment 
This class will answer questions and discuss reducing expenses, addressing financial challenges, managing
financial concerns and finding new sources of income. The class will also teach you how to deal with the
emotional impact and ease the uncertainty that accompanies change.

Understanding Credit Reports & Scores 
This informative seminar will show you what lenders look for on credit reports, how to
establish good credit, and how to legally eliminate credit report errors for free.
Identity Theft: Deter, Detect, Defend 
This seminar teaches the Federal Trade Commission's "Deter, Detect, and Defend" program.
You will also learn how identity thieves operate and how to protect your good credit.
Insurance Basics 
Insurance policies can be confusing, but donŐt let the uncertainty of
fine print keep you and your family from getting the coverage you need.
This course will cover the nuts and bolts of auto, home, health, life
and disability insurance. Students will also learn how to compare
insurance companies, agents, and polices.

First Time Home Buyers Seminar 
If you have not owned a home in the last three years, you qualify as a "first time
home buyer." This pre-purchase information will help you shop for lenders, learn to
budget for housing expenses, and discuss credit reports and scores. Participants will
receive a certificate of completion recognized by many First Time Home Buyer programs
throughout Orange County.

Foreclosure Prevention 
This workshop will educate home owners who are behind in their mortgage payments, what happens in the
foreclosure process and how to determine a plan of action for you to try to keep your home. Certified
counselors will be available to answer questions and discuss your options.

Renters Rights and Responsibilities 
The workshop addresses the rental process from inspecting the potential rental unit
through the signing of the rental/lease agreement. Rental payments, security deposits,
repairs, privacy issues, and the eviction process will be discussed.

Raising a Money Smart Child 
Learn techniques to help your children become savvy consumers, and financially prepared
for the real world. The understanding of money begins around 5-years of age, and healthy
money habits should start then as well.
Leaving the Nest 
Topics include: budgeting, goals, W-2, front/hidden costs of
an apartment, roommates and other living expenses. There
will be a sample budget based on the costs of living in
Orange County and compared to average salaries for people
with different educational levels. Ages 15-25.
Wise use of Credit 
Overview of goals, tracking spending, savings, establishing
good credit, the price of bad credit, credit reports, APR, grace
periods, late/over-the-limit fees, dangers of co-signing and
the perils of overextending yourself. Ages 15-25.
New DMP Client Orientation 
Required for clients enrolling in the CCCS-OC Debt Management Program. This in-depth class covers all the
details you need to successfully complete the program. Clients may either watch the Orientation DVD or view
